Patterns of Rememory

In the body of prints I have created a series which focuses on the idea of rememory and returning to the past through the use of patterns and repetition. I discovered the term rememory from the writings of Toni Morrison who explains how everything exists in memory and that past moments can be revisited. Rememory allows for the past and the history to be recreated through a collective and universal way of remembering. It allows for others to have the same memories and to be spurred by similar cues. With my work that I have made I am focusing on triggering rememories. I want the viewer to be able to retreat into their past and relate to the ambiguous interior images with the use of their own experiences and history.
